Step by Step Guide to Mint NFT Using Crossmint

Introduction

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have taken the digital world by storm, revolutionizing the way we perceive and exchange digital assets. If you're interested in minting your own NFTs and exploring the vast world of digital collectibles, Crossmint is a user-friendly platform that can help you bring your creations to life. In this blog, I will walk you through the process of minting NFTs using Crossmint, enabling you to unleash your creativity and showcase your unique digital assets to the world.

Step 1: Set up your Crossmint Account

To begin minting NFTs with Crossmint, the first step is to create an account on the platform. Visit the Crossmint website(staging.crossmint.com) and click on the "Sign Up" or "Create Account" button. Fill in the required information, including your name, email address, and password. Once you've completed the registration process, verify your email address, and log in to your newly created Crossmint account.

Step 2: Open/Create Collection

Once you are logged in, click to the console button on the top right corner of the website which will take you to the Developer's console in which you can try the NFT minting tool for free to see how the API will work in your project. After which you will have to create a new collection.

Step 3: Add Images/GIFs to your collection

Once you have a collection which you can name anything of your choice, you will have to click on the "Create New NFT" button on the top right corner of the screen and choose an image or GIF of your choice to use it and mint an NFT.

There is a size limit up to which you can upload an image.

Step 4: Mint NFT

Once you have selected the image or GIF to be minted as NFT, move forward in the minting process which will include naming the NFT and giving a small description of the NFT.

There are multiple chains which you can use to mint the NFT and since the staging website is free to use, you don't have to have any actual currency in your wallets.

Once your image is uploaded, click on the three dots at the end of the image tab where you will finally see the mint NFT option.

Step 5: Publish NFT and see it on the On-Chain address

Once the NFT is minted, on the right of the image tab you can click on the On-Chain address link which will take you to the Solscan website which will show you the minted NFT and the transaction on the chain.
